💡 Improvement Suggestions

Checking your CGPA should not feel like solving a math exam. Yet every semester, thousands of students at Capital University of Science and Technology open spreadsheets, scribble on paper, or trust random websites just to figure out one number.

Pak Student Calc fixes that. This free CUST GPA calculator is built directly on CUST Academic Regulations the same rules your Examination Branch uses. Type in your grades, press calculate, and walk away knowing your exact Semester GPA, Cumulative CGPA, percentage, and where you stand academically right now.

Using the CUST GPA Calculator — Exactly How It Works

The calculator sits right above this content. Here is how to get your result in four steps.

    Select Your Programme Type

The very first thing you do is choose your degree level BS, MS/MPhil, or PhD. Do not skip this step or guess.

Why does it matter? Because the CUST Academic Regulations apply different standards at different levels. The credit hour structures, passing thresholds, and CGPA requirements are not the same for a BS Engineering student and an MS Computer Science student. Selecting the correct programme makes the tool apply the right rules from the very beginning.

Add Your Subjects One by One

For every subject on your semester result, enter two things:

    The grade you received

The credit hours assigned to that subject

You can find both on your CUST portal results page or your printed semester grade report. The calculator immediately converts each grade into the correct grade points using the official CUST grade points table  including the range-based calculation for grades that carry variable points.

enter semester gpa and credit hours

    Click calculate to view results

This is where the gpa calculator cust does everything at once. Within a second you will see:

Semester GPA (SGPA) your performance score for this specific term

Cumulative GPA (CGPA) your overall academic average since you joined CUST

Percentage your CGPA converted to a percentage using the HEC standard formula

Academic standing a clear label telling you whether you are in good standing, approaching probation, eligible for merit scholarship, or in the danger zone

    enter student info bu optional

Save Your Academic Report as PDF

Going for a scholarship application? Preparing MS admission documents? Sharing results with a potential employer?

Download your academic report as a PDF directly from Pak Student Calc. You get two options a concise one semester summary or a complete academic history report that covers every semester you have entered. Both are formatted cleanly and ready to attach to any formal application.

Something Important About CUST's Grading That Most Tools Get Wrong

Not every GPA calculator you find online actually understands how CUST grades its students.

Capital University of Science and Technology does not use a simple fixed grade point for every letter grade. Instead, it uses a grade point range system meaning your exact percentage inside a grade bracket determines your actual grade points, not just the letter on your result card.

For example  a B+ at CUST covers 75% to 79.99%. A student who scores 79% earns 3.99 grade points. A student who scores 75% earns 3.50 grade points. Same letter. Very different GPA impact across multiple subjects.

This is part of CUST’s relative grading system philosophy — your result reflects the full weight of your actual performance, not just a rounded label. The Pak Student Calc CUST GPA calculator applies this correctly, using the official CUST grading policy from start to finish.

Official CUST Grading Policy — Full Grade Points Table

Capital University of Science and Technology uses a 4-point grading system approved by its Academic Council. This system is designed to reward consistent performance across the full marks spectrum not just letter grade brackets.

Here is the complete CUST GPA criteria table, exactly as used by the Examination Branch:

    GradesPercentageGrade Points
    A+90% and above4.00

CGPA Thresholds at CUST — Know Your Numbers Before Results Day

These are the academic lines every CUST student needs to know not when the semester is over, but right now.

    BS and Undergraduate Programmes

    Minimum CGPA: 2.00

Falling and staying below 2.00 activates CUST’s academic intervention process. You are given a limited window to recover. Miss that window and the consequences escalate quickly.

    MS / MPhil Programmes

    Minimum 2.5 or above

The academic pressure at graduate level is real. The CUST grading policy at MS level leaves no room for coasting and the minimum passing grade per course reflects that stricter standard.

    PhD Programmes

    Minimum 3.0 CGPA

PhD students at Capital University of Science and Technology are also required to pass a qualifying examination and publish research in HEC-recognized journals before the degree is conferred.

How to Convert Your CUST CGPA to Percentage

Job applications, CSS/PMS competitive exams, overseas admissions, and government recruitment forms often ask for your result in percentage rather than CGPA. The standard HEC Pakistan formula is:

    Percentage = (CGPA ÷ 4.0) × 100

Quick reference for common CUST CGPA values:

    CGPAPercentageStanding
    4.00100%Perfect Score
    3.5087.5%Merit/Scholarship Zone
    3.0075%Strong Academic Standing
    2.5062.5%MS Minimum
    2.0050%BS Graduation Minimum
    Below 2.00Below 50%Academic Probation Risk

The cust gpa calculator on Pak Student Calc automatically shows both your CGPA and the percentage equivalent the moment you hit calculate. No extra formula, no separate conversion step needed.

For formal submissions visa applications, scholarship forms, employer verification, or foreign university applications always use your official CUST transcript GPA as the document of record. Pak Student Calc results are for planning, tracking, and understanding your academic position.
