Minimum CGPA You Need at University of Gujrat

Every student should know the minimum CGPA required to pass, graduate, or move to a higher program at UOG. Here is a clear breakdown.

For BS and 4-Year Undergraduate Students

    You need a

    Minimum CGPA of 2.00

to complete your degree. Falling below this can put you at risk of academic probation or delay your graduation.

For 2-Year MA and MSc Programs

    The CGPA required

    Minimum 2.00 or above

or degree completion in 2-year postgraduate programs.

    For MPhil Programs

    Students must maintain a

    Minimum CGPA of 2.50

throughout their MPhil program. Most MPhil programs also require you to pass a university entry test before admission.

    For PhD Programs

    PhD applicants need a

Minimum CGPA of 3.00 or above

in their MPhil or MS degree. Research proposal submission and a subject test are also part of the PhD entry process at UOG.

Academic Standing at UOG and What It Means for You

Your CGPA does not just determine your grade  it also determines your academic standing, which affects your ability to continue in the program and register for future semesters.

    Good Standing

Good Standing means your CGPA is at or above the required minimum. You can register freely for next semester courses without any restrictions.

    Academic Probation

Academic Probation happens when your CGPA falls below the required minimum. During probation, you may face a limit on how many credit hours you can take per semester.

    Academic Warning

Academic Warning is issued when your CGPA starts dropping toward the minimum. It is an early alert from the university that you need to improve your performance.

    Dismissal

Dismissal can occur if poor performance continues over multiple semesters. The university follows official semester rules to decide this.

    UOG CGPA to Percentage Conversion

Many employers, scholarship committees, and foreign universities ask for a percentage instead of a CGPA. Converting your UOG CGPA to percentage is straightforward:

    Percentage = CGPA × 25

Here are a few quick examples:

    • CGPA 3.50 × 25 = 87.5%
    • CGPA 3.00 × 25 = 75.0%
    • CGPA 2.50 × 25 = 62.5%

According to HEC Pakistan, 60% is considered First Division, which aligns with a CGPA of around 2.40. Our UOG calculator shows your percentage automatically right after the GPA calculation, so you never have to do this math yourself.

Quick Tip for UOG Students: Always enter grades exactly as they appear on your official result notification. Even a small mistake in credit hours or grade selection can change your CGPA. Run the calculator after every semester result to stay on top of your academic standing. If your CGPA is close to the minimum, act early  speak to your advisor and plan your next semester carefully.
