How Karachi University Calculates GPA and CGPR
At University of Karachi, the cumulative grade point average is officially called CGPR (Cumulative Grade Point Ratio). The calculation method is the same weighted-average approach used across HEC-recognized universities.

Karachi University Probation and Academic Standing

Satisfactory Progress
Keeping your CGPR at 2.2 or above (for BS programmes) means you are moving toward graduation without any academic restrictions. Focus on staying above this line throughout all 8 semesters.
Academic Probation
If your GPA or CGPA drops below 2.0, you may be placed on academic probation at Karachi University. This is a formal warning that your academic performance needs to recover in the immediately following semester. Students on probation face restrictions on course registration and must show improvement to continue.
Academic Honors
Scholarships and merit-based fee concessions at UoK generally require a CGPA of 3.0 or above, with top academic honors typically going to students at 3.5 and above.
