Understanding the University of Lahore Grading System Before You Calculate

Before any number makes sense, you need to understand how University of Lahore actually assigns grades. UOL follows what is officially called the absolute grading system meaning your grade depends entirely on your own marks, not on how the rest of the class performed.

There is no curving, no normalization, and no comparison with other students. You score what you score, and your grade is assigned based on fixed percentage ranges defined in the UOL grading policy PDF. This is fully aligned with the HEC 4.0 scale that applies to all recognized universities in Pakistan.

Here is the complete UOL grade points table:

Percentage MarksLetter GradeGrade Points
80 and aboveA4.00
70 – 79B3.00
60 – 69C2.00
50 – 59D1.00
Below 50F0.00

Based on the official University of Lahore Grading Policy and HEC Pakistan academic standards.

The UOL grading system is intentionally simple. Four passing grades, one failing grade. Each grade covers exactly ten percentage points, which means there is no ambiguity a 70 is a B and an 80 is an A, with no in-between modifiers. Once you know this table, the entire UOL GPA system becomes easy to follow.

Converting Your UOL CGPA to a Percentage the Right Way

A lot of students at University of Lahore need their academic results expressed as a percentage  for job applications, competitive exam forms, scholarship eligibility checks, or HEC degree attestation. The formula recognized by HEC Pakistan for this conversion is:

Percentage = CGPA × 25

So if your UOL cumulative GPA is 3.2, your estimated percentage works out to 80 percent. If your CGPA is 2.8, your percentage is 70. Pak Student Calc’s UOL CGPA percentage tool runs this conversion instantly the moment your CGPA is calculated.

This is the same formula used in the broader HEC CGPA calculator framework and is recognized by employers, scholarship committees, and international graduate schools when evaluating Pakistani university transcripts.

Keep in mind that this is an estimated conversion. For official documentation, HEC attestation, or international equivalence, your original University of Lahore transcript and any official equivalence certificate issued by UOL or HEC remain the final authority.
